Coldstream Labs to expand formulation and analytical development facilities.
LEXINGTON, KY (May 6, 2011) –
Coldstream Laboratories, Inc. today announced an expansion of its formulation
and analytical development facilities at the Coldstream Research Campus in
Lexington. The expansion includes the
addition of workspace for new staff the company has added over the last several
months. Additionally, the company has
invested in a second laboratory scale freeze dryer that will expand the
company’s capacity to develop lyophilized drug products.
“The addition of the new laboratory
space is consistent with our growth strategy,” said Coldstream’s CEO, Larry
Kranking. “We have experienced
significant growth in demand for development of injectable drugs over the last
six months and have been adding new talent to our laboratory staff. We chose to expand our laboratory space to
make way for this growth and to allow us to continue to execute on our
strategic plan.”
Coldstream is in the process of
expanding its laboratory staff by approximately 25 percent at its Lexington
facilities. Most of the new positions
are to be filled with formulation scientists and analytical chemists.
Coldstream Laboratories, Inc. is a
specialty manufacturer of sterile injectable drugs and operates Kentucky’s only
sterile pharmaceutical manufacturing facility.
